About

This website is dedicated to my grandparents, who are suffering from dementia. It’s been difficult for me to see them decline, but it also inspired me to do whatever I can to help with the problem. Before creating this website, I invented the SpeakEasy, a device to make phone calls easier for people with dementia and hearing loss. After seeing the device in operation, several people have suggested that I should patent it and start a company. Instead, I decided to contribute the design to the general public, since I think that would be the fastest way that others could benefit from my work. In thinking about where I wanted to publish the work, I got the idea to build this website.

TheyForget.com is a place where people who have loved ones suffering from dementia can share ideas with other people in similar situations. There is a blog post with feature articles and discussion/collaboration tools such as a community forum/bulletin board, comments for posts, and messaging between users. I’m hoping to get other people to author blog posts here and contribute to the community discussion groups.

I want to thank my father for helping through the stickier parts of WordPress and its plug-ins, my mother for encouraging me to help others, and my grandparents for always being part of my life.
